Course Objectives

To impart overall knowledge of the various membrane technologies used widely in the water treatment industry. The course will cover Micro-filtration, Ultra-filtration, Nano-filtration, Reverse Osmosis and Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) membrane Technologies used for water, waste water and sea water desalination, with emphasis on selection and application of right technology.

Course Outcome

Participants of this course will have a deeper understanding of the various membrane technologies with regards to membranes, process and system designs, applications, sizing and operation and maintenance. Participants will acquire knowledge on how to use these technologies together such as MF/UF followed by RO or MBR followed by RO.

About the Trainer:

Muley Tushar (Adjunct Lecturer, Nanyang Polytechnic)

Total Experience:

- Total Experience of more than 25 years covering Process Design, Engineering, Control System logic, Commissioning and Operation of domestic & Industrial Water-Wastewater treatment, Membrane based Desalination, Water Conveyance (close conduit as well as open channel flows), Head loss analysis, Pumping/ Gravity main designs etc. 

- Associated with prestigious plants in Singapore – Singspring (1st Desalination plant) Desalination plant in Singapore, Changi (SembCorp) Newater Plant at Changi WRP, Kranji NEWater Factory, Integrated Validation plant at Ulu Pandan WRP, Tuas WRP etc. 

Experience in Training:

- Conducting technical trainings (within organisation) for various regional offices in South East Asia region for Biological Treatment Process & Equipment, Membrane filtration Process & Equipment and MBR Process & Equipment, covering various technical aspects such as Selling sweet spots, Selling techniques, Process design, Configuration of the system, Commissioning and troubleshooting, Operation and Maintenance of the treatment plants etc. 

- Organising product Operation and Maintenance training for customers as a part of fulfilment of the contracts. Control System programming logic. Adjunct lecturer at Nanyang polytechnic.
